Vote Communist Future in Manchester Central on July 4!

I would urge all my readers to support the Communist Future election campaign in Manchester Central. I was delighted to hear that a launch event went well and the comrades have already raised a fair bit of money.

I am supporting the comrades on the basis of their partyism – a clearly identified need to build a party of the future for the society of the future: communism. The comrades argue: “We want to see the formation of a party that serves to link together our different experiences and advance our collective interests as a whole. This wouldn’t be a party like the Labour party, which pacifies the interest of the majority while claiming to speak for them, but an independent communist party that is absolutely clear in its long-term goal of a widespread transformation of society. We don’t need a party that seeks to rule on behalf of the majority, but a party in which we organise and prepare to take control collectively. ”

It’s probable, of course, that Communist Future will only win a small vote but organisations that don’t use the electoral tactic at this particular juncture effectively mark themselves out as abstentionist. This terrain should not be simply surrendered to bourgeois parties and their filthy careerists.

Like many readers of this blog, I don’t live in Manchester but comrades can take a hand by giving their financial support to Communist Future. Donate here. Even small amounts will be welcome. If you live in or around Manchester, contact the comrades and see what you can do to help.

Forward to communism!

FROM A POEM:
“Breathe deep the gathering gloom,
Watch lights fade from every room.
Bedsitter people look back and lament,
Another day’s useless energy spent.
Impassioned lovers wrestle as one,
Lonely man cries for love and has none.
New mother picks up and suckles her son,
Senior citizens wish they were young.
Cold-hearted orb that rules the night,
Removes the colours from our sight.
Red is grey and yellow white,
But we decide which is right.
And which is an illusion?”
